Today, the Royal Canadian Military Institute (R.C.M.I.) and Tribute Communities unveiled the cornerstone for the new home of the R.C.M.I. and The Residences at R.C.M.I. on University Avenue.
The new cornerstone is placed at the base of the iconic 42-storey tower to preserve the legacy of the original R.C.M.I. headquarters on this heritage site.
Hundreds gathered for the event, with a pipes and drums massed band marching on University Avenue, and the unveiling by the Governor General David Johnston.
Construction is well underway for the building (currently on the sixth floor) with tentative occupancy slated for June 2013. For more details about the project, please click here.
